Job Description
As a Sr. Consultant, People Analytics at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to advancing data-driven decision-making within the organization. You will work with our innovative People Analytics team, using critical thinking and analytical skills to impact significant decisions. Furthermore, this role often demands delivering technical and professional mentorship on complex predictive and prescriptive analytics matters using statistical and financial modeling. Creativity, innovation, and lateral thinking play important roles in developing new methods and addressing data and analysis issues.
Required Skills:
- Display excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to clearly define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide recommendations.
- Detailed working knowledge of statistics, financial modeling, and people analytics.

- Practical working experience in the workforce analytics and workforce planning function.

- Positive relationship management skills developed sufficient to acquire support from Executive level management and elicit cooperation and consensus from team members.
- Proven experience delivering outstanding internal work deliverables across a broad level including senior Executives.
- Ability to partner closely to better understand business issues and help build business analysis models that will yield valuable outcomes.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity in handling situations effectively and suggesting ways to improve work processes.
- Adapt to changes and learn new technologies and techniques as required.
- Build the analytical capability of HR business partners through mentorship, consultation, and training. You will be the expert on selecting appropriate tools, identifying drivers, trends, and proactive opportunities in the data.
Education and Experience Requirement:
- Master’s degree in business, science, or statistics accompanied by 3 years of relevant professional experience in HR data and analytics, or equivalent experience
- Or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or statistics concentrating on analytics, plus 5 years of applicable experience working with HR data and analytics, or equivalent background
Required Knowledge or Experience With:
- Ability to craft prompts to produce better GenAI output for problem solving a given challenge.
- Demonstrate proficiency in visualization and analytics tools such as Excel, PowerBI, SQL, Python
- Apply statistical concepts and principles such as descriptive statistics, regression, correlation, and significance testing in data analysis.
- Collect, coordinate, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data to uncover patterns and trends.
- Apply knowledge of key HR metrics to quantify and analyze data effectively.
- Visual storytelling and must be able to use PowerPoint to build compelling and informative presentations that tell a story. This includes the ability to develop a clear narrative, use data to support your argument, and compose slides that are visually appealing and easy to understand.
