You will be joining the Enterprise Innovation team plays a key role in CIBC’s mission to build the bank of the future by providing the enterprise with human-centered insights into emerging trends and technologies. The team drives hands-on experimentation that deepens our understanding of new opportunities and potential disruptions, grows CIBC’s culture and community of innovation, and works with partners across the bank to pursue and deliver new value. As the Sr. Consultant, Delivery, Enterprise Innovation you will report to the Director of Enterprise Innovation. You will be responsible for leading a technical agile POD focused on driving execution to deliver proof of concepts and hands-on experimentation to uncover new innovation-driven opportunities and deliver tangible value across the enterprise.

How You’ll Succeed 

  • Technical Delivery Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary technical team in an agile environment, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee all aspects of technical planning, build and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and business-aligned. Champion agile delivery practices, driving iterative development, cross-functional collaboration, and alignment with shared business objectives. Provide strategic guidance and direction to the development team on solution design and deployment.
  • Collaboration / Relationship Building – You will develop and maintain ongoing relationships with the internal POD consisting of Developers, UX Designers, Consultants and partners across the Enterprise, working collaboratively to deliver on various initiatives. 
  • Executive Storytelling – The ability to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly, while engaging a diverse audience. You will need to possess strong deck-building and presentation skills, creativity, and strategic thinking to inspire stakeholders and showcase the value of proof of concepts aligned with organizational goals. Ensure organizational risks and opportunities are identified and raised for consideration in the analysis, assessment and formulation of projects and initiatives.
  • New Opportunity Exploration: Use the human-centered Design Thinking method to lead exploration of innovative ideas and facilitate co-creation workshops with stakeholders.. Drive the execution of proof-of-concepts and hands-on experiments to provide the team with practical insights and clarity on potential business value and next steps.

Who You Are

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years leading multidisciplinary technical teams and delivering projects in an agile environment, with a track record of developing products and services in digital, technology or similar areas of innovation. Expertise in Agile Frameworks and Tools: Deep knowledge of Scrum or Kanban; Demonstrated ability to facilitate agile ceremonies, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Extensive experience with Microsoft products and proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and other agile collaboration tools. Strategic Thinker and Planner: Provide long-term vision and guidance, ensuring that the team’s technical solutions are aligned with business objectives and future needs. Experienced in building detailed, adaptable plans that balance guidance with flexibility, and in communicating progress, milestones, and blockers to executive audiences.
  • Business-Oriented Technical Leader: Experience leading technical teams with a strong focus on business outcomes, ensuring that technical delivery is closely aligned with overall organizational goals.
  • Metrics and Outcome Driven: Set KPIs and OKRs, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Define acceptance criteria and what success looks like. Measure benefits realization and report on project progress and success to management.
  • Strong Problem Solver: Possess excellent strategic thinking, conflict resolution, and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of sound judgment in complex situations.
  • Self-Driven, Innovative and Improvement-Focused: Passionate about innovation, fintech, and emerging trends and technologies, and experienced in delivering new capabilities to the enterprise. Obsessed with productivity and efficiency, always seeking ways to enhance performance and outcomes.
