What you'll be doing

You’ll provide direct output to support successful operations management and transformation which can include analysis on a variety of topics, determining end-to-end processes, coordinating or crafting policies and procedures, and leading or supporting key internal initiatives. Exercising judgement and often operating in ambiguous situations and provides innovative, original ideas, accountable to broadly defined policy and regulatory objectives.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $92,490 to $127,200.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How You’ll Succeed  

  • Strategic Business Leader - Act as a specialized business operations owner, business consultant, liaison, influencer, and implementer on various initiatives. Liaise with and leverage partners on projects & initiatives including the  development and negotiation of appropriate operational solutions, developing business requirements, designing processes, implementing and maintaining/continually improving operational effectiveness. Gather data, information, and stakeholder feedback to provide informed guidance. Have the ability to handle escalations, proactively create mitigation and communication plans.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skillset - Have the ability to discern the root cause of complex issues and apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome roadblocks.  Have the ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking to extract meaning from data to guide decisions. Help build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements.  You think critically and creatively.

  • Relationship & Partner Management - Develop and maintain productive relationships with designated business owners and lines of business peers. Collaborate with various business stakeholders from across the bank to determine needs and support, understand business processes and identify gaps and requirements.  Have experience working with team members and/or external vendors to identify risks, constraints, dependencies and collaboratively brainstorm process improvements and solutions.

  • ​Incident Support - Provide proactive and ad hoc support for issues raised. Work closely with business partners to investigate process breaks and complex issues and facilitate solution design discussions. Research existing policies, procedures and systems that support the current state and identify changes needed to support revised processes. Update, create and draft internal communications, procedures and frontline reference materials

  • Big picture thinking - You can reflect, ask the right questions and understand how transformative changes fit into the larger organizational strategy in a meaningful way. Assist with the implementation of new processes and procedures, defining criteria to monitor on-going compliance to established service level agreements, and ensuring service levels meet or exceed the client’s expectations

  • Product Knowledge - Have a high-level understanding of online brokerage, investment industry. Familiar with CIRO and AML requirement and regulations.

  • Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, interpretation, and assessment.
