This Business Systems Analyst VI role supports one of M&T Bank’s growing Equipment Finance teams within a large‑scale Agile technology environment. The team oversees business‑critical software used daily to power Equipment Finance operations and continuously works to deliver tools that help the business better serve its customers. The BSA sits directly on the Agile team, working side‑by‑side with engineers, product owners, scrum masters, and business partners. Acting as the bridge between business and technology, this role plays a key part in shaping how solutions are designed, built, tested, and delivered. You’ll support a high‑impact, highly independent Equipment Finance line of business, considered one of the most important and lucrative areas within the organization. Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare well‑documented functional specifications for assigned projects, test plans, test scripts, and execution of test scripts.
- Perform research and analysis of complex data to ensure functional designs are accurate and aligned with business needs.
- Act as a consultative and authoritative source of knowledge regarding how the business operates within the assigned line of responsibility.
- Assist in solution design by defining how it should work, enabling engineering teams to design how it will be built.
- Partner closely with Product Owners and Agile team members to support business and technical discovery, story refinement, acceptance criteria, data mapping, interfaces, and overall solution definition.
- Schedule and facilitate project and team meetings; document and distribute meeting minutes as applicable.
- Meet with business clients to discuss requested application changes related to enterprise initiatives, regulatory/compliance needs, contractual obligations, and business‑as‑usual enhancements, ensuring thorough understanding of requirements.
- Participate in design discussions and ensure delivery of complete and accurate functional specifications.
- Review business requirements with technology teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment with project goals.
- Coordinate and provide estimates for complex projects, including timelines and project phases.
- Serve as a subject matter expert advising on application impacts related to enterprise‑wide initiatives such as acquisitions or major product and service changes.
- Serve as Functional Testing Lead and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Coordinator:
- Design, prepare, build, and execute test plans and scripts.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Ensure documentation, evidence, traceability, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Assist in coordinating successful production implementations, including implementation notices, RFC creation and review, securing approvals, participating in implementations, and post‑implementation validation and sign‑off.
- Participate in and document data mapping activities for system integrations, conversions, and acquisition‑related initiatives.
- Work with other testing and delivery teams to ensure changes and enhancements meet functional, performance, and regulatory expectations.
- Monitor functional specifications and change requests to ensure projects remain within scope and aligned with Corporate Technology standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure change requests, issues, and incidents are documented, reviewed, resolved, and communicated appropriately.
- Provide system and user incident support, including monitoring system health and working with technical teams to ensure operational documentation, playbooks, and procedures are in place.
- Mentor less experienced staff in application training, research analysis, Agile delivery, and project methodology.
- Assist with post‑implementation review activities, including feedback collection and debriefs.
- Assist in developing expense and capital budgets and employee appraisals.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; identify and escalate risk‑related issues as needed.

Education and Experience Required
- Combined minimum of 8 years' combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics/systems development experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $171,600.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
