Job Description:

The Senior Advisor, Business Strategy & Insights acts as a lead advisor to business leaders and internal stakeholders. This role is responsible for leading the execution of the sales incentive monitoring programs for US Wealth in accordance with the program rules. This person will leverage sales incentive data to provide guidance on the effectiveness of the programs to ensure the programs are functioning as intended. Expertise on the Wealth industry and its products, and the administration of sales incentive compensation programs is a requirement for this position.  

This role provides comprehensive analytical support, insights on business performance, and generates multidimensional views that drive business growth and value. Leads workstreams designed to enhance deployment of tools, reporting systems, and business insights. Leverages US Wealth customer portfolio data to identify opportunities for sales generating campaigns. Provides consultative support, business intelligence, advice and expertise based on US Wealth data and reporting to inform decision making and/or strategic planning on US Wealth initiatives.

Depth & Scope:

  • Expertise in understanding the financial mechanics of investment and banking products a requirement
  • Experience identifying and leading ad hoc analyses and communicating results to executive leadership
  • Functions as a subject-matter-expert on the US Wealth data and reporting processes for cross-business or enterprise-wide projects and initiatives
  • May manage and prioritize multiple projects at a given time, including longer-range planning for a functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
  • This level can interact with any hierarchy level up to executive leaders and external vendors

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Postgraduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, analytical, or financial background
  • Proficient PC skills including a strong competency in MS Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint, and a variety of PC based analytical and reporting software packages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Leads and executes data/business analysis using various internal data sources to support the understanding of customers, business drivers and financial results
  • Supports all relevant projects and initiatives to ensure project data and reporting requirements are met; may also be accountable to lead team in bridging the gap between analytic outputs and business insights, including improving information presentation / delivery
  • Oversees quality of data visualization presentations / layouts / templates / etc. to be leveraged across a given business or across the enterprise and provide authoritative subject matter expertise and consultative support for own team, as required
  • Works in a consultative role to provide “value-added” insights in the form of analysis, interpretation and advice to colleagues and supported business leaders on
  • Liaises with business stakeholders to conduct effective discussions on project requirements, data specifications, priority and timeline to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation on all projects/requests
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders to ensure proactive notification of upcoming projects, data requests
  • Supports a culture of continuous improvement, implement process improvements including updates to BI intake process, development of SLAs, introduction of project roadmap/status reporting processes, etc.)

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Ensures team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall BI & Reporting
  • Leads relationships with corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  • Supports team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
  • Assesses / identifies key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management where required
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite
  • Identifies, mitigates and reports on risk issues per enterprise policy / guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed
  • Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets)
  • Works closely with key business leaders to optimize TDBG’s resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and scale
  • Leads or contributes to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
  • May provide data visualization and analytical thought leadership and stay current on development in data mining and the application of data science
