Position Overview

The Senior Director for Regional Accounts [employer, Employer Benefits Consultants (eBC), coalition, other], is accountable for driving access at Regional Accounts [employer, eBC, coalition, other] and their associated benefits decision teams, as well as partnering with enterprise partners to integrate the customer-facing approach with these key customers.  The position will report to the Lilly Employer Field Leader in the Lilly Employer organization. 

This role is based remotely and does not have direct reports.

Candidates pursuing this role should be obsessed with employer and consumer experience.  They should drive for solutions that balance both Lilly and customer needs with the goal of extending OMM coverage and creating exceptional consumer experiences.  Ideal candidates will be self-motivated to pursue new relationships, expand existing relationships, and constantly seek to understand the tensions and opportunities that exist within them.  They should be exceptional collaborators who work well across Lilly and our customer’s matrixed organizations, as well as be accountable to balancing business advances with compliant approaches to engagement. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain or grow opt-in (both traditional and alternative) with critical regional accounts in collaboration with Lilly enterprise partners.
  • Accounts owned by the S6/7 Senior Director Employer Field will include the largest by employee population in their respective geography.  They could include important regional customers such as: employers, eBC, coalitions, and any new or emerging customers impacting benefits decisions.
  • Work with Director of Strategic Accounts (DSA), State and Government Affairs (SGA), Director of Payer Accounts (DPA), Sales Leaders (as needed), and other key functions to create exceptional experiences and an integrated front for these customers.
  • Understand the challenges and opportunities for these customers and provide answers that improve patient access.
  • Build deep expertise in: (1) Employer health benefits and their key support functions, (2) Our medications and the disease states in which they are indicated, (3) Our value story and key tools and resources (ie traditional and non-traditional) and when they meet a specific customer and enterprise need.
  • Prepare for and execute exceptional launches as Lilly’s product portfolio and resource offerings continue to grow. 
  • Establish/build upon existing relationships with key stakeholders while maximizing all internal Lilly resources to meet their needs in support of Lilly obesity efforts.  Influence internal and cross-functional teams supporting the execution and creation of both existing and new tools and resources that meet critical customer needs. 
  • Meet or exceed key measures of success, including key metrics, KPIs, and overall execution goals that lead to removal of access barriers for patients/employees.
  • Be thoughtful about the broader enterprise as goals within the employer workstream are achieved.
  • Work through Employer Field Leadership providing key input customer insight, go to market strategy, opportunities to innovate core capabilities, etc.

Position Requirements (Transferable Skills):

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of employee benefit consulting, in-house employer benefits management, account management or B2B selling, or related experiences (including specialty or oncology sales/leadership, account-based selling).

  • Demonstrated prior experience with establishing and consistently meeting or exceeding business development and maintenance targets
  • Demonstrated understanding of account management and selling with employers, health systems, payers, or other business partners.
  • Inherent drive to solve challenging problems while deepening current and growing new relationships

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$157,500 - $266,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
