Job Description Summary

The Sr. Billing Analyst is responsible for the accurate setup/maintenance of contracts, billing rules, transactions, or transaction adjustments within the financial system. They are responsible to properly accounting for billings, billing transactions, billing transaction adjustments, revenue recognitions or revenue offsets/adjustments that are more complex in natures. Strict adherence to SOX controls is required. Analysis of billing and/or revenue to ensure proper recognition is required. The Sr Billing Analyst is highly involved in the daily and month end revenue review and works closely with FP&A/Business Operations to provide analysis and ensure revenue has been properly recognized. The position is highly customer service-oriented interacting internally with many levels within the organization. They should maintain a positive attitude and strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task to meet deadlines set forth by management.

Job Description

About the Role:

  • Review, analyze, and resolve complex billing adjustment requests, transaction inquiries, and BAU processes with proper accounting treatment.
  • Conduct revenue analysis to ensure accurate recognition, collaborating closely with FP&A and Business Operations for detailed support.
  • Set up and maintain projects, contracts, and billing rules within the financial system in compliance with SOX controls.
  • Lead billing-related activities for mergers & acquisitions, process changes, and integration initiatives, including user acceptance testing and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform account reconciliations for revenue and related accounts, and support audit requests while interfacing with City Leaders and Finance Managers on escalated issues.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Workday Finance, Oracle, Salesforce, and MS Office (advanced Excel skills required).
