POSITION OVERVIEW:
Owns the consensus demand forecast by combining statistical baselines with commercial inputs to deliver a reliable, accurate, and unbiased demand signal for the business. This role partners closely with Commercial, S&OP, S&OE, Supply Planning, and Analytics teams to ensure forecasts support business objectives and enable optimal service, inventory, and capacity decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and publish the consensus demand plan, focused on 3-24 months horizon.
- Generate statistical baseline forecasts using segmentation, incorporate commercial inputs and validate assumptions.
- Provide monthly demand submission assumptions and scenarios to support trade-off discussions
- Monitor, track and improve forecast accuracy and bias
- Conduct root cause analysis for forecast errors across commercial events, bias, seasonality and lifecycle phases
- Create and maintain new product master data. Generate analytical forecat based on benchmarking according to data available, enrich forecast and validate launch reasonability
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education (minimum/desirable):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Languages
- English fluency, written and verbal
Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience required
- Experience in demand planning, forecasting or analytics within supply chain
- Knowledge of S&OP/IBP processes
- Strong analytical capability and proficiency with forecasting tools
- Experience with advanced planning systems preferred (e.g. SAP IBP, o9, Kinaxis, APO)
