The Senior Analyst, People Data shapes how leaders understand, experience, and act on workforce data. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, storytelling, and strategy; transforming complex people data into clear, compelling insights that influence decisions at every level of the organization. As an analytics partner to HR and business leadership, the Senior Analyst designs and delivers scalable reporting and analytics solutions across the employee lifecycle. This role provides executive-ready insights and recommendations that helps identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the workforce by leveraging Workday reporting and dynamic dashboards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Workday Advanced Reporting – 80%

  • Design, build, and maintain complex custom reports and dashboards in Workday using Report Writer, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools), Discovery Boards, and Worksheets to visualize data trends for key metrics
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities within people data and translate insights into executive ready dashboards, presentations, and recommendations for HR and business leadership.‑ready dashboards, presentations, and recommendations for HR and business leadership
  • Create complex calculated fields in Workday
  • Aggregate and analyze data across all HCM Workday modules including Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Talent Management, Time and Absence, Core HCM (workforce demographics, turnover), Succession Planning, and Advanced Compensation to prepare visual analytics for HR and management
  • Provide best practices and strategic input to support organizational direction based on data analysis. 
  • Develop models on unstructured data sets to provide detailed analysis of current state and predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to gather system-wide reporting needs and translate them into effective data solutions to support workforce planning
  • Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure data integrity
  • Create documentation and conduct training to ensure stakeholders can interpret and use reporting tools effectively
  • Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in data analysis, visualization, and HR analytics
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices
  • Support HR in the creation of complex reports and compiles information from various data sources for ad hoc reporting
  • Own, execute and collaborate on multiple/concurrent projects and requests, and manage clear expectations with stakeholders
  • Design and deliver advanced people analytics solutions using Workday as the system of record, while leveraging Domo and other visualization tools to create executive level dashboards that synthesize insights across HR and business data technologies

HR System Administration – 20%

  • Act as a consultative partner to leadership and HR Partners in assisting with gathering requirements, design, configuration, testing, and implementation of system enhancements, business process updates, and reporting for new modules or functionality
  • Improve HR processes through data and reporting automation, self-service tools, on-demand reporting, and workflow enhancements to enhance agency and employee experiences. Recommend system optimizations and process improvements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reporting performance, data discrepancies, and user access and proactively identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and self-service through training
  • Understand the full scope of HR systems and interfaces to ensure that data flows appropriately among all HR systems. Analyze, maintain and troubleshoot HR information systems and data sources; identify and resolve root causes that drive improvements
  • Audit and analyze test runs within Workday for consistency and accuracy. Maintain data integrity and system functionality by auditing data in the system on a regularly scheduled cadence

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of prior work experience, preferably in HR, HCMS and Data
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in building advanced reports in Workday HCM
  • 1+ year experience with SQL 
  • Experience in data visualization tools such as Domo, Tableau, R Studio, Power BI, etc.
  • Workday Pro Reporting Certification preferred
