We are looking for a Senior Advisor, U.S. Tax Reporting (GDS) to support our U.S. Tax Group with income tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role has a primary focus on U.S. regulated utility entities, with exposure to tax provision and regulatory reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare federal corporate and partnership income tax returns, along with separate and combined state income and franchise tax filings.

  • Support consolidated income tax provision activities (ASC 740 and FIN 48), ensuring accuracy, timelines, and effective workflow management.

  • Prepare and review GAAP tax provisions and related calculations using ORACLE, SAP, OneSource, and Corptax Tax Provision software.

  • Complete tax calculations and disclosures required for regulatory compliance, including FERC Forms 2 and 6 and rate case support.

  • Collaborate in tax audits, research, and planning initiatives to minimize tax risk and optimize cash tax outcomes.

  • Leverage tax depreciation systems to calculate depreciation and property-related tax adjustments, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

  • Identify and help implement process improvements, new technologies, and training initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

Who You Are:

  • A university graduate with a degree in Business Administration or a related discipline with 6+ years progressively responsible income tax experience, ideally within the energy or utility industry.

  • A CPA designation and/or relevant graduate degree is preferred.

  • Possess strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax and solid understanding of tax accounting principles.

  • Experienced with tax systems and tools such as Corptax, OneSource, tax research platforms, and fixed asset software.

  • Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • A proactive team player who can manage complexity, meet deadlines, and guide others through processes and systems.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
