As a Senior Corrosion Advisor, you will provide technical expertise and oversight for corrosion and pipeline integrity programs across the gas transmission system. This role supports operational teams, engineering design, and project personnel in implementing corrosion prevention strategies, including coatings, cathodic protection, AC/DC mitigation, and internal corrosion management. What You Will Do:

  • Oversee corrosion-related regulatory and discretionary projects, including atmospheric inspections, annual surveys, bimonthly inspections, internal corrosion coupons, and indirect surveys (CIS, ACVG, DCVG).

  • Perform QA/QC on corrosion data and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements (PHMSA, OPUC, TXRRC).

  • Provide technical support and communicate with internal stakeholders on corrosion programs.

  • Lead collection and analysis of corrosion data for safety cases, engineering evaluations, and risk assessments.

  • Support continuous improvement of corrosion processes, SOP development, and technology implementation.

  • Provide direction for installation and commissioning of corrosion-related equipment.

  • Mentor and train corrosion technicians and junior staff.

  • Support the development of remediation scopes of work and lead assist corrosion planning initiatives.

  • Ensure transparency and oversight in the execution of corrosion funding (OPEX and CAPEX) projects.

Who You Are:

You Have:

  • Education: Technical diploma preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of field operations experience, with emphasis on corrosion programs.

  • Certifications:

    • Corrosion Technologist Designation or

    • AMPP CP2 (minimum) and/or other AMPP certifications.

  • Strong knowledge of cathodic protection systems, coatings, and corrosion mitigation strategies.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Access, Excel) and basic GIS knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Previous corrosion experience in oil and gas pipelines.

  • Proficiency with AI Pipeline Compliance System (PCS).

  • Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 and 195.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned location.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs, walking job sites).

  • Professional office environment with field visits as required.

  • Safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to company and regulatory standards.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
