Pay Range: $26.38/hr. - $34.30/hr. | $54,879 - $71,343 annual compensation

A Sr Administrative Assistant position is available with the City of Fort Worth’s FWLab Administration Division. The FWLab advances the City’s vision to be “the most livable and best managed city in the country” by building organizational capacity to explore, analyze and learn from data that is deliverable via existing and new municipal system and components.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of increasingly responsible administrative and fiscal management experience in support of a department, division, or major service area, including one year in supervisory or lead capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with executive support, including calendar management, presentation compilation, and meeting preparation
  • Experience with municipal purchasing processes and procurement card management
  • Experience independently balancing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy

The Sr. Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include:

  • Proactive calendar management for the Chief Transformation Officer and meeting rooms within the FWLab with a high degree of accuracy
  • Responding to employee needs with professionalism and discretion
  • Assisting with department HR and medical records management functions
  • Managing department purchasing needs and expense tracking, including procurement card purchases, purchase orders, and contract renewals
  • Collaborating with FWLab divisions to book travel and training opportunities, process travel request forms, and ensure requested travel and training are budgeted and approved
  • Supporting the department with presentation compilation for key meetings and events
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement to processes and customer experience
  • Event planning and logistics management, including coordination of monthly department meetings, the annual department retreat, department fundraising activities for city-wide campaigns, and a bi-monthly department head meeting hosted by the FWLab

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work—Depending on assignment, position in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting more of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
