DESCRIPTION

How you will make an impact:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Tax Specialist within the controllership structure to support the MBD business and Specialty Diagnostics Group by ensuring tax compliance, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Sales and Use Tax and Property tax to ensure compliance and accurate timely filings of tax returns in alignment with US GAAP and local reporting requirements. You will partner with finance and business teams to mitigate risk, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.

What you will do:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of Sales and Use, and Property Tax returns
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and company policies
  • Partner with site teams across North America to meet local tax requirements and resolve tax-related issues
  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation and audit responses
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax controls and operational efficiency
  • Utilize financial systems and tools to strengthen compliance, reporting accuracy, and data integrity
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess tax risks and support business initiatives
  • Provide tax-related analysis and decision support to finance and business stakeholders
  • Lead and support monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Integrate into the wider controllership structure supporting the wider team and businesses as required
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS

How you will get here:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in tax or accounting, with exposure to Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax
  • Sales and Use tax filing experience (non-negotiable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Taxware/Webtool Kit, Blackline) is a plus
