The Sr Accountant – Financial Reporting is critical in supporting the Company’s financial reporting and technical accounting functions. Reporting to the Manager – Financial Reporting, this position is responsible for preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, analysis, and disclosures, ensuring consistency across all financial reporting documents. This role plays a pivotal part in financial close cycles, audit readiness, and regulatory filings. This role requires cross-functional collaboration between accounting, finance, and operations departments as well as Internal and External Audit to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance within a high-performance accounting function.

Major Activities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements (10-Q, 10-K, S-1) and tie out, including the accumulation of supporting documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Tie out presentations and materials prepared by Investor Relations for completeness and accuracy
  • Support IPO readiness activities (as applicable), including drafting S-1 filings, audit coordination, and control enhancements
  • Work with external auditors to ensure efficient audits and timely filings
  • Develop and maintain internal reporting packages for PE sponsors and executive leadership
  • Assist with researching, documenting, and implementing conclusions regarding technical accounting treatment for non-routine transactions, new accounting pronouncements, and the update of internal accounting policies
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly disclosure checklists
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting processes for efficiency and compliance
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of the business partnership role for Financial Reporting, with a focus on process improvement, providing support to the management team and cross-functional and cross-divisional business partners
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in reporting workflows, and support the implementation of solutions
  • Assist in maintaining reporting checklists, calendars, and documentation to ensure compliance with deadlines

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • CPA or CPA candidate (CPA preferred)
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of US-GAAP and SEC reporting with the ability to apply knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Minimum Type of experience the job requires

  • 3+ years of accounting experience

Preferred Education

  • Master of Accountancy 

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Experience at a large international accounting firm (Big 4 strongly preferred)

Preferred Type of experience the job requires

  • Experience with retail
