About This Position

  • Coordinate daily operations of county park facilities, including gyms, athletic fields, courts, and other amenities
  • Provide customer service, process payments, and perform office/cashier duties while opening, closing, and monitoring facilities
  • Use RecTrac software to process athletic reservations, sports events, and facility usage
  • Make regular rounds at high-traffic sports parks to ensure reservation compliance and address issues promptly
  • Serve as the primary evening point of contact, troubleshooting problems and communicating updates to management and site staff
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, schools, and local sports organizations
  • Address visitor concerns, ensure a welcoming environment, and enforce facility rules, safety guidelines, and risk-management procedures
  • Maintain accurate records, manage site inventories, and prepare reports using RecTrac and Smartsheet
  • Coordinate the Sports Ambassador volunteer program—including recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating volunteers
  • Conduct facility inspections and support maintenance tasks such as field prep, turf care, line painting, equipment setup, and emergency responses

Work Hours:

  • Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday
  • Work Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Work Hours: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Be ready to jump in for occasional evening or weekend shifts during exciting community events

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Services, biological/natural sciences, education or related field AND two (2) years of related experience

  • -OR- A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Services, biological/natural sciences, education or related field AND one (1) year of related experience

  • -OR- Professional experience as described herein can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education

  • A Valid Florida driver’s license at time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recreational, Athletics, & Leisure Service programming experience

  • CPR Certification

  • Expereince with including Microsoft Office Professional and RecTrac or similar reservation software

Physical Demands:  Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $53,456.00 - $55,057.60/ annually, based on experience
