About This Position

Facility Operations & Coordination:

  • Assist with coordinating the operation of the County’s park facilities, including gymnasium, athletic fields & courts, and/or other facilities; performs customer service, office and/or cashier function; opens/closes park or other facilities; unlocks/locks doors and turns lights on/off; monitors facilities and amenities; records/calculates visitor counts and daily usage of facilities, explains facility procedures, rules, and regulations to visitors; reports problems to supervisor or necessary law enforcement.
  • Schedule and coordinate athletic reservations, sports events, practices, and facility usage. Assists with coordinating athletic field reservations and permits through RecTrac. Facilitates programming to ensure fair and equitable use of facilities.
  • Foster relationships with community members, schools, and local sports organizations.
  • Address participant concerns, provide excellent customer service, and create an inclusive environment.
  • Manage site inventories, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of reservations, visits, and activities through RecTrac.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, facility policies, and risk management procedures.
  • Host multiple events, classes, and rentals simultaneously, ensuring each room meets the customer's needs.
  • Schedule facility reservations, coordinates with community groups and instructors and manages activity registrations in Rectrac.
  • Produce monthly calendars, responds to inquiries about reservations, and ensures reservations are accurate. Ensures access to all guests with reservations.
  • Collect payments for various activities, registrations, rentals, and passes.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Conduct facility inspections to identify and report maintenance needs. Assists maintenance staff with field preparation, turf care, line painting, and equipment setup. Responds to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the County’s park facilities, including gymnasium, athletic fields & courts, offices, and/or other facilities; clean and/or vacuum; dust fixtures and furniture; clean counters; empty trash; freshen bathrooms; stock supplies; maintains grounds; sweeps and blows debris; cleans windows.

Work Hours:

  • Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday

  • Work Full-Time, 40 hours per week

  • Work Hours: Varying depending on the programming of parks.

  • Be ready to jump in for occasional evening or weekend shifts during exciting community events

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Sports Management, Recreation Leisure Services, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field AND two (2) years of related experience

  • -OR- A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Sports Management, Recreation Leisure Services, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field AND one (1) year of related experience

  • -OR- Professional experience as described herein can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education

  • A Valid Florida driver’s license at time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recreational, Athletics, & Leisure Service programming experience

  • CPR Certification

  • Expereince with including Microsoft Office Professional and RecTrac or similar reservation software

Physical Demands:  Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $53,456.00 - $55,057.60/ annually, based on experience
