As our Sports Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of Skechers Performance Sports Marketing across Iberia. You will act as the central hub between all areas of the department - including creative, trade marketing, media, social media, legal, and field teams - ensuring all events, activations, and community initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
In this role, you will manage the end-to-end organization and execution of events, athlete contracts, and brand activations, working closely with all internal teams and external partners to ensure flawless delivery across all programs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Coordinate and execute day-to-day sports marketing activities for Skechers Performance in Iberia, ensuring all events, activations, and community initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as the central cross-functional coordinator between all areas of the department (creative, trade marketing, media/performance, social media, legal/contracts, and field teams), ensuring smooth communication and alignment throughout execution.
- Plan and execute end-to-end sports marketing events and activations across key categories (Running, Football, Basketball, Padel, Golf), managing all logistics, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage events and coordinate sports marketing agencies and external partners to ensure execution excellence.
- Collaborate with the Athlete Specialty Manager to support athlete-led activations, ensuring operational efficiency and consistency across all programs.
- Prepare and deliver marketing tools and training materials, coordinating internal and external trainings for retailers, partners, and internal teams when required.
- Track and report on marketing budget, KPIs, and event performance, creating and sharing event recaps, activation results, media coverage reports, and learnings to continuously improve future programs.
- Execute additional tasks and ad hoc projects linked to department and business needs, with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Strong background in sports marketing with proven, hands-on experience in event planning, coordination, and execution.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and activations simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and cross-functional coordination skills, with a demonstrated ability to work across internal departments, agencies, and external partners.
- Highly detail-oriented and proactive, with a problem-solving mindset and a strong sense of ownership over deliverables.
- Genuine passion for sports and active lifestyle culture, with a solid understanding of performance sports communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, planning, and presentations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or similar. High School diploma, BSc in Marketing, Business or Sports Marketing or relevant field is a strong advantage.
- 3 to 5 years experience in sports or performance marketing, with a strong focus on event execution and operational coordination.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Portuguese is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing events and activations within a marketing environment; broader brand or trade marketing exposure is a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills; experience managing cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to travel and work weekends when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; an existing network within sports communities, agencies, or retail partners is a plus.
