Key Responsibilities:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Sponsorship Operations Support and Quality Assurance - 30%
- Provide advice, guidance, and oversight to maintain high quality sponsorship operations performance.
- Develop and implement effective communication and feedback mechanism, regularly relay feedback and key reports to stakeholders.
- Work closely and advise the Operations Director and Cluster Managers for a multi-year RC growth plan for all support offices.
- Report on the Sponsorship performance to the Regional and Global offices.
- Review/advice/guide and handle the quality of messaging on sponsorship for communities and sponsors.
- Innovate tools and mechanism that enable sponsorship teams to work in an efficient and effective manner.
- Guide Sponsorship team in updating or contextualizing any operational guide of sponsorship (as and when required)
Risk Management, Safeguarding and Audit
- Lead sponsorship risk identification, mitigation, and reporting at National Office and Area Programme levels.
- Ensure full compliance with World Vision child safeguarding, sponsorship data protection, and privacy policies.
- Lead preparation, coordination, and follow-up of Risk-Based Internal Audits (RBIA) related to sponsorship.
- Provide leadership during Sponsorship-in-Emergency situations, ensuring appropriate reporting, coordination, and sponsor communication in line with standards.
Sponsorship in Programming and Sponsorship Capability:
- Provide strategic guidance and advice in the delivery of high-quality Sponsorship in Programming.
- Lead the development of the community engagement and sponsorship capacity building process.
- Review strategic implications of sponsorship feasibility and on-going risk management.
- Lead the inclusion of Sponsorship essentials in AP Annual Planning processes, integrating sponsorship requirements into project activities within Detailed Implementation Plans and Horizon.
- Oversee the community engagement and partnering processes for sponsorship.
- Lead and Guide the quality of child selection process.
- Provide technical advice and support in conducting project baseline and evaluations to meet the quality level expectation.
- Develop and implement the Sponsorship monitoring system and contribute to semi-annual and annual reporting.
Internal/external Liaison, Coordination:
- Lead strategic engagements with concerned stakeholders especially Senior Operations and Strategy & Programme Quality Teams as well as Regional Office, Global Center and Support Offices to support the implementation of Sponsorship business and new initiatives.
- Manage and handle domestic/regional/ global relations so as to facilitate and enhance the satisfaction of sponsored children, families, communities and sponsors/donors.
Sponsorship Standards, Business Processes, Systems and Tools:
- Lead NO Sponsorship Operations team to perform regular monitoring and provide on-going support to ensure child data is timely and accurately recorded, updated and managed properly in Child Sponsorship systems.
- Strategically review, simplify and contextualize business processes.
- Update and develop relevant sponsorship standards, policies and procedures.
- Facilitate the culture and practice of innovation, position sponsorship for the future.
Management of additional funding through Child Sponsorship:
- Responsible for the implementation of Birthday Bounceback, Christmas Gift, New Year Gift Kits and Gift Notification funding in alignment with the requirement of World Vision Support Offices (including monitoring and reporting)

Team leadership, Knowledge Management, Staff Capacity & Culture:
- Develop and set annual departmental business plan, lead the Sponsorship Team, provide Capacity building as and when needed, and review performance/objectives / deliverable for team.
- Identify, share / facilitate access to sponsorship resources and appropriate materials, learning and support opportunities for sponsorship team.
- Conduct orientation on minimum standards in sponsorship protocols, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate and live out Christian identity, provide spiritual nurture staff care and wellbeing.
Organisational Capability and Succession planning
- Lead sponsorship succession planning and talent development at National, Cluster, and AP levels.
- Establish a sustainable sponsorship capability development framework in collaboration with People & Culture.
- Ensure continuous learning and integration of sponsorship competencies across functions.
- Staff performance review and assessment done objectively.
- Regular conduct performance review meeting both individually with staff and also with broader sponsorship unit staff.
Strengthening of Systems & Digital Governance - Sponsorship Business Systems Governance
- Provide national oversight of Sponsorship Business Systems (SSUI, Horizon, mobile platforms), including escalation protocols and system integrity.
- Lead or contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), pilots, and validation of new sponsorship business rules.
- Coordinate with WVIT and Regional teams to ensure system issues are resolved promptly and sustainably.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
- Min 5 years of experience in handling child sponsorship programme in development context.
- 3 years’ experience in managing and handling teams and departmental/ unit performance.
Required Education, training, license, registration and certification
- Bachelor degree in Management / Social Science / Development studies.
- Experience in developing training resources, developing programming guidelines and capacity building skills,
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of development theory, transformational development, area based development models, approaches and issues
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of child sponsorship programming
- Strong problem solving, interpersonal, communication and people management skills
- Ability to apply principles, global learning, global practices to local contexts
- Strong team management and leadership experience (specially spread out field offices)
- Strong understanding and knowledge of programme/project management (planning, monitoring, implementation and evaluation)
- Must be highly motivated and proactive to try new things.
- Must be flexible to a demanding and changing working environment.
- Knowledge and experience of engagement with external partner, and ability to deliver departmental performance.
