Position Summary / Career Interest:

Central Link Services (CLS), a subsidiary organization supporting healthcare provider organizations across the region, delivers strategic operational services that enhance clinical and financial performance. The Spend Management Analyst plays a critical role in the daily operations of CLS, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence for member organizations. This position is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks, while analyzing business practices to drive efficiency and alignment with the mission and strategic goals of The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS). Specific duties include healthcare operations, supplier relationship, GPO contracting, and network optimization.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Actively measure, assess, and refine the level of customer service provided to meet the evolving needs of CLS membership. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by soliciting feedback and refining processes to enhance customer service delivery.

  • Collaborate with TUKHS Spend Management and Pharmacy departments to identify and implement initiatives based on new contract opportunities, and contract revisions. Drive business through GPO contracts to maximize financial benefit to TUKHS and CLS members. Negotiate local contracts when GPO contracts are unavailable or do not meet the needs of CLS.

  • Utilize key metrics and data to identify strategic initiatives and create actionable responses for CLS. Interpret and leverage analytics to create additional value streams for CLS through the ongoing analysis of contract compliance, membership participation levels, standardization, and utilization.

  • Coordinates, maintains, and assists in implementation of national and regional Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) programs.

  • Assists GPO members and affiliates with the administration of supply and equipment contract portfolios.

  • Manage relations with members, GPO, manufacturers, and distributors.

  • Analyze procurement, inventory, and logistics data to identify opportunities for member.

  • Create dashboards and reports to measure contract compliance and collaborate with members for continuous improvement.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align CLS strategies with patient care and organizational values.

  • Engage with suppliers to drive value for all stakeholders and collaborate to build innovative programs.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, Joint Commission) and ESG reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB).

  • Stay informed on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in healthcare supply chain.

  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Nursing or a related field of study from an accredited college or university. OR

  • 8 or more years of experience in Supply Chain.


Preferred Licensure and Certification

  • Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP)


Required Language Skills

  • Fluent English - Commands advanced communication skills with various levels of professionals within multiple media/formats


Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

  • Knowledge of healthcare Materials Management organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Tecsys) and healthcare inventory management systems.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO's) and aggregation groups
