    About This Opportunity

Join the Child Health Research Centre (CHRC) as a Speech and Language Pathologist and take the next step beyond traditional clinical practice. This is a unique opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a community-focused, educational and partnership-based role that contributes to improving neurodevelopmental outcomes for children across Queensland.

Working as part of The Neurodevelopmental Clinic, a collaborative research partnership between Children’s Health Queensland, The Murri School and Inala Indigenous Health and Cherbourg Community Health—you will provide clinical advice and support to research teams, co-design educational resources, and deliver professional development for community and clinical partners.

Rather than direct therapy, this role focuses on consultation, co-design, education, and community engagement, making it ideal for an experienced clinician looking to broaden their impact, particularly through meaningful work with First Nations communities and diverse regional partners.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Providing high-level clinical advice to research teams and partner organisations to enhance service delivery and research translation.

    • Building capacity among community and clinical partners through education, consultation, and professional development activities.

    • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships across Queensland, including with First Nations and regional communities.

    • Supporting research initiatives through clinical input, data review, and resource development to improve neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnostic pathways.

    • Contributing to the refinement of service delivery models through consultation, partnership, and evidence-based innovation.

This position includes regular local travel within the Brisbane region, as well as regional travel approximately once per month.
