Hours per week: 36

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening; Every other Saturday and occasional Sundays

Sign On Bonus: Up to $20,000

SUMMARY

As a Specialty Radiologic Tech, you assist radiologists with imaging procedures, in either mammography and/or CT technologies, to ensure diagnostic quality and the maximum comfort and safety of patients. 

Key Responsibilities:
•  Performs and/or assists diagnostic, screening, ultrasound, and interventional mammography procedures. 
•  Performs daily and periodic Mammography QA/QC activities under the direct supervision of the Mammo QA Technologist.
•  Monitors equipment for proper performance and functionality.
•  Monitors image quality on a continuous basis to ensure that all quality standards are met.
•  Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and in patient charts as necessary.
•  Practices and held accountable for excellent customer service behaviors.
•  Performs imaging using the ALARA radiation safety principals.
•  Responsible for radiography of patients in all assigned area, including CT scanning and Interventional CT guided procedures.
•  Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-service training.
•  Give IV contrast dye (they must also be competency assessed on orientation and/or annually)
•  Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
•  Other duties as assigned.

For Ambulatory Affiliate:
•  Provide coverage at other Ambulatory Imaging sites as needed.
•  Freely assist other team members as needed in other areas of the department.
•  Provide Clinical information, exam data and documents in patient EMR as outlined in departmental procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  2 year college certificate or equivalent.
•  Minimum 6 months as a Radiologic Technologist. 
•  Mammography and/or CT experience preferred.
•  Computer skills required.
•  Participates in required Mammographic and CT continuing education as required.

New Graduates:
•  Official transcript from accredited school or letter emailed directly from the school’s registrar’s office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation.
•  Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date.

Required Licensure/Certification:
•  NYS License in Radiologic Technology.
•  For CT modality, NYS License in Radiologic Technology with injection within 3 months of hire.    
•  American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) Required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
