We are looking for you!

  • Pay Salary: $95,000- $115,000 (Rancho Cordova & Sacramento) + 20% annual bonus

  • Pay Salary: $105,000- $130,000 (Oakland & Bay Area)+ 20% annual bonus

  • Monthly auto allowance

The Specialty Gas Sales Manager guides and supports the regional specialty gas organization's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. The primary function is to cultivate sales growth of specialty gases, process chemicals, and specialty gas equipment by fostering a team of Specialty Gas Specialists. This role involves shaping short- and long-term strategies, evaluating program impact, and recommending advancements to nurture customer retention and sales potential.

  • Market Presence: Cultivate market-pioneering sales and gross margin growth in the region.
  • Safety & Compliance: Support and maintain a "Safety First" culture across all facilities and ensure compliance with all company policies, including drug-free workplace and EEO standards.
  • Operational Integrity: Guide and inspire the specialty gas team to achieve exceptional levels of EBITDA performance and operational integrity.
  • Growth Initiatives: Promote market-specific growth initiatives in key categories such as Ultra High Purity (UHP), Research Grade Gases, Certified, and EPA Gas mixes.
  • High-Level Relationship Management: Build direct, strategic relationships with strategic partners throughout the region to ensure a culture of "seamless customer connection".
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of teamwork and communication across the region and division to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Team Engagement: Actively engage all specialty gas associates to ensure they thrive in their professional journey through mentorship and professional development.
  • Training & Technical Support: Plan and implement training for inside and outside sales associates on specialty gases, equipment, and product safety. Act as a sourcing and technical resource for the broader sales organization.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and presentations using PowerBI, Salesforce, and other digital tools.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • Ideally, you bring a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (Chemistry, Engineering, or Natural Science is a plus) or a rich background in business.
  • About 3 or more years of outside sales experience is what we are looking for.
  • Natural ease in connecting with a diverse community of colleagues and partners with different personalities and backgrounds, both within Airgas and externally.
  • Thoughtful analytical approach, skill in building alignment, and the ability to share ideas with clarity and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in guiding and mentoring others for about 2 years is is a plus.

  • A history of meaningful contributions in selling specialty gases and equipment is is what we are looking for.

  • Experience in building rapport with laboratory and technical personnel and reaching collective milestones is is a plus.

  • Understanding of specialty pure gas and mixture production methods.

  • General understanding of analytical and process control markets.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Salesforce.
