Specialist, ServiceNow Opp Data Developer

Position Overview: 

The ServiceNow Opp Data Developer will contribute to building and enhancing solutions for operational data products such as CMDB, Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, Operational Management Technology, as well as Auto Discovery  on the ServiceNow Platform to support essential services that improve workplace experiences. The person will work with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Procurement, and Security, providing opportunities to deliver impactful solutions that make work easier and more efficient.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including modules such as HAM, CMDB, ITSM, ITOM Discovery, Catalog.

  • Experience with implementing and managing integrations, Service-Graph connectors, basic automation, custom scope application and ServiceNow mobile applications are added advantage

• Education:

  • Bachelors in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• Required Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document clearly.

  • Working knowledge in JavaScript, and/or Python, API integration, and web service calls.

• Preferred Skills

  • Certified System Administrator for ServiceNow

  • Certified Application Developer for ServiceNow

  • Familiarity with API integration, and web service calls.

  • Understanding of ETL mapping, transformation maps, and IRE rules

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies.

• Travel:

  • No more than 10%.

Core Responsibilities:

User Needs Assessment:

• Understand user requirements and assist in evaluating ServiceNow capabilities that meet those needs.

• Participate in estimation and refinement of user stories.

Project & Release Management:

• Support implementation of release strategies for ServiceNow enhancements.

• Assist in defining scope for small to medium projects.

Technical Communication:

• Share technical updates with team members and stakeholders.

• Help gather business and functional requirements.

Workflow and Documentations:

• Prepare clear documentation for development and deployment processes.

• Maintain records of configurations and changes.

Technical Solution Development:

• Translate functional requirements into technical tasks.

• Perform feasibility checks and basic risk assessments.

System Configuration and Testing:

• Collaborate with systems architects to build, configure and test ServiceNow components.

• Install, configure, and test tools as per design specifications.

• Support integration testing and validation.

Integration and Maintenance:

• Assist in integrating ServiceNow with external systems like Workday or Ariba.

• Help implement testing and validation procedures.

Documentation and Training:

• Document changes and impacts on existing environments.

• Contribute to training materials for end-users.
