This is an exciting opportunity to lead our outpatient cardiology services, delivering patient centred pathways in a purpose-built Specialist Diagnostics & Dental Centre. Featuring state-of-the-art facilities including MRI, CT, X-ray, and mammography, the centre will deliver a wide range of outpatient and diagnostic services across multiple specialities.

About the centre

The Centre's secondary care services including muscle, bone and joint, orthopaedics, pain and spinal, dental and maxillofacial, breast and gynaecology, dermatology, cardiac, musculoskeletal, spinal, and urology, ENT, and will be able to perform procedures onsite. The centre provides rapid-access to numerous specialities.

How you'll make things happen:

  • You'll be a highly specialist echo physiologist (a clinical subject matter expert), with a pivotal role in establishing and embedding clinical services, creating pathways and processes that deliver outstanding patient care and experience.

  • You’ll be a visible leader driving clinical excellence, governance, and innovation while supporting the seamless transition of patients across care pathways within Bupa’s London network.

  • You'll lead a small team of Cardiac Physiologist and Cardiac Associates, whilst ensuring the delivery of high-quality cardiac diagnostic services, including echocardiograms, ECGs, stress tests, and BP And Holter monitoring.

  • You'll also oversee the performance and operational delivery of the cardiology service, working closely with stakeholders in both primary and secondary care within Bupa to drive efficiency and maintain exceptional standards of care.

  • Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with referring clinicians and hospital departments, both internally and externally, and play an active role in expanding and enhancing the service.

  • You'll also support diagnostic and secondary care sites across London when required.

You will have the following :

  • Able to perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with British Society of  Echocardiography (BSE) standards. Independently acquire and interpret echocardiographic images, producing comprehensive reports for referring clinicians.

  • To perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs; Fit, removal and analysis of 24 hour Holter/BP monitors.

  • Auditing

  • Significant leadership capabilities in a senior role.

What you’ll bring:

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence (ESSENTIAL)

  • Transthoracic (TTE) Level 2 accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography or   Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI)  ( ESSENTIAL)

  • Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development ILS - Immediate Life Support Course (ESSENTIAL)

  • Stress Echocardiography Accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography  MSc in a Cardiac Physiology related subject or STP equivalence in Cardiac Imaging  (DESIREABLE)

  • Appropriate clinical experience post qualification. (ESSENTIAL)

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through training as a Clinical Physiologist. (ESSENTIAL)
