Job Overview:
As a part of the Strategic Research team in Knowledge Services function of MMIPL, the candidate will support our Surety colleagues in the Marsh Surety Canada practice. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, a robust understanding of accounting standards and principles, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports related to Surety bonds and supporting our global colleagues and assisting in client servicing activities.
We will count on you to:
· Assist in delivering Canadian bond solutions that meet client requirements.
· Collaborate closely with clients, customs brokers, and insurance brokers to facilitate efficient bond processes and approvals.
· Analyze financial reasons for bond rejections and recommend remediation steps to achieve approvals in accordance with company policy from Insurance brokers.
· Customer-focused with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines.
· Assess, evaluate, and follow up on customs surety bond request submitted through the portal; coordinate issuance of approved e-bonds for obtaining signatures, and manage formal acknowledgements and communications with end clients, customs brokers, and insurance brokers.
· Maintain proper records and updated client filing documentation for reporting and audit purposes
What you need to have:
The required qualifications, experience, and training for this position include:
· A university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
· At least two years of experience in an accounting position, preferably in a risk advisory or insurance setting.
· Strong working knowledge and experience using financial and accounting models
· Flexibility to adapt and work within dedicated timelines.
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
· Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
· Ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and be a team player.
· Commitment to the principles of confidentiality.
