Are you looking for an exciting new role as a Specialist Reliability Engineer? In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining equipment strategies using risk‑based methodologies to optimize the performance, reliability, and cost of mine mobile equipment throughout its lifecycle. The role applies industry best practices to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance tactics are technically sound, executable, and cost‑effective. You will establish and maintain technical operating limits and maintenance strategies that enable production plans to be achieved without compromising equipment reliability or asset integrity.
In this role, you will work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and external partners, you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate engineering standards, and safety policies, while driving continuous improvement through data‑driven analysis, disciplined execution, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering; equivalent technician qualifications with relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in mine mobile equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset lifecycle management
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA
- Experience leading reliability or engineering improvement projects and programs
- Strong analytical capability, including experience extracting and analyzing CMMS (SAP) work order and performance data
- Experience with GE APM considered an asset

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize equipment strategies and lifecycle plans to improve asset performance, reliability, and longevity
- Lead end‑to‑end, data driven reliability improvement by identifying bad actors, preventing repeat failures, enabling condition based maintenance, and embedding insights and emerging technologies into asset strategies and maintenance execution
- Drive asset reliability through strong collaboration with maintenance, operations, engineering, and external partners; build trusted relationships and clearly communicate technical insights to support informed decision making
- Lead reliability, engineering, safety, and compliance initiatives through to completion while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate engineering standards, and documented procedures to safeguard asset integrity
- Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills supported by reliability engineering expertise (e.g., RCA, FMEA, CBM), with a sustained focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Location and other key details:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will be based on years of experience and scope of work
