The role:  

We are inviting candidates for a 9‑month / 12-month role as a Specialist Programmer I/II. As a Specialist Programmer I / II, you’ll be part of a team responsible for protecting patient privacy when clinical data is shared within AstraZeneca / with external partners around the world and for maintaining data anonymisation tools supporting this process.  
 

Key highlights of the role: 

• Support day‑to‑day Data De-identification (DEID) operational tasks 
• Help to develop, review, improve, and maintain DEID tools 
• Apply coding standards and team guidelines while working on day‑to‑day tasks Take ownership of delegated tasks, including basic documentation 
• Assist with compliance and validation to ensure that systems are ready for audit 
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and help maintain clear, basic documentation

Key requirements:  

Education & Language: 

• Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field. 
• Fluent communication in spoken and written English. 

Required skills: 

• Programming: 
• SAS/Python or another programming language 
• Experience in developing utilities and tools 

• General understanding of: 

• Data analysis and reporting 

• Data management within Clinical Trials 

• Data privacy and compliance when working with sensitive information.
