Job Summary

As a Specialist Planner, you will be part of the Central P&C team and have the opportunity to develop into a Subject Matter Expert (SME).  The Civil P&C team own rules, tools, processes and capability across Civil.

You will play a key role in the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations) process which covers demand, supply and balancing for both engines and parts. One of the key tasks is executing the schedule for MRO Engine Inductions across all Civil Engine Types. This process is undergoing a major improvement programme, and this role gives an excellent opportunity to make a difference to one of RR’s core processes.

You will be a central point of contact for providing business support to end users across Aftermarket Operations and the Value Streams.  You will be key in ensuring that the processes they use are fit for purpose and our systems are capable of supporting those processes.  You will engage with our end users through both Process Councils and local Community of Practices. You will also be responsible for ensuring that ERP compliance is adhered to.

We are constantly looking to improve our tools and you will be part of the part of the team responsible for the further development, training and deployment of these.  You will interact with key stakeholders across various levels and become a key user for these systems within the business.

We have lots of exciting new projects upcoming this year, which include new tools, capability uplifts to existing tools and the opportunity to be creative with how we take Planning & Control forwards.  The Successful candidate will be part of at least one of these projects and be responsible for ensuring that it is on time, deployed in the system and can provide training to the wider business.

You will have the opportunity to enter the CPIM programme which is designed to broaden your in-depth knowledge of a variety of subjects specific to planning, which is ran by APICS (now part of the Association for Supply Chain Management) who provide industry-leading certifications and training.

What you’ll do

  • Scheduling Engine Inductions as part of the SIOP Process to produce a 2-year plan of Inductions & Outputs
    Monitoring ERP Compliance across our executive system.

  • Capturing new requirements for changes and enhancements to our existing tools

  • Deploying and training those enhancements to our end user population.

  • Embrace & advocate changes to the way we work developing new processes and tools
    Collaborate with our end users and support COP’s and Process Councils.
    Become a ‘go-to’ person for the wider P&C community, to provide expertise and support for a variety of issues.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ideally has some Planning & Control, Aftermarket Ops or Value Streams knowledge.

  • Good Understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Has experience of project and/or change management.

  • ​​​Has consistently delivered results within a Planning & Control environment.

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7-10.
