At the Aalto University Learning Services we are looking for a

Specialist, internationalization (external scholarships)

for a fixed-term position 2.2. – 15.11.2026

In this position, you will serve as a specialist in scholarship matters and as the project manager for the External Scholarships project. The goal of the project is to enhance Aalto University’s external scholarship opportunities for international, tuition fee liable students. The project involves developing and piloting a scholarship portfolio and related services, as part of attracting international students and talent to Aalto University in alignment with the university’s strategy.

As a specialist, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and managing the university’s external scholarship processes.  Your main responsibilities include identifying and developing scholarship partnerships, developing and implementing scholarship models and related processes, supporting Aalto schools in in achieving their scholarship-related objectives, enhancing the value of existing scholarships through student communications and event organization, and supporting the university's international student recruitment efforts.

You’ll be part of the Programme Management services team’s group of education internationalization. External scholarships project is a pilot that started in 2024. Depending on your expertise and background, the job description can be tailored and may include additional responsibilities.

What we are looking for

We seek an action- and development-oriented specialist who is passionate about education internationalization and international student support. You have excellent collaboration, communication and interaction skills. You work skillfully with various teams, clients, and stakeholders, ranging from students to external partners. Your strategic, proactive, and analytical approach enables you to navigate a complex environment while inspiring and supporting colleagues to achieve our shared goals. You are also prepared to perform practical operational tasks and are keen on learning new things.

The position requires expertise in the internationalization of Finnish higher education, tuition fee and scholarship practices, as well as international student flows. Project management skills are important for successfully handling the role. We hope you have demonstrated organizational skills and diverse collaboration experience. We value experience in international student services and student recruitment, as well as event management. Experience in service development is considered an advantage. The role requires excellent spoken and written English skills, and proficiency in Finnish and other relevant languages is an asset. You have completed a relevant higher education degree (master level).
