About the Role
The World Economic Forum is seeking a Specialist, FMC Decarbonization to support the delivery of the First Movers Coalition (FMC) — a global initiative accelerating the commercialization of zero-carbon technologies across seven hard-to-abate sectors.
Reporting to the Programme Head, FMC, the Specialist works across aviation, aluminium, carbon dioxide removal, cement and concrete, shipping, steel and trucking. The role plays a central coordination function across sector working groups, member engagement, communications and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-stakeholder working groups and sector convenings across seven industrial sectors
- Support member engagement and onboarding, ensuring effective participation and follow-up
- Contribute to the development of sector insights, briefings and publications
- Develop FMC’s communication strategy and m FMC communications outputs, including newsletters and cross-Coalition updates, in alignment with Central CNC communications
- Oversee website content updates and ensure alignment of digital materials with programme priorities
- Drive coordination and content development for flagship publications (including the annual FMC Impact Brief) and develop key messaging and narrative materials to support external positioning and member engagement.
- Manage project timelines and coordinate the planning and implementation of global convenings, including FMC Day and regional in-country workshops.
- Manage and continuously improve the FMC impact tracking (“Fast Movers”) database, ensuring data quality and integrity, coordinating with knowledge partners, and supporting impact analysis and reporting of the initiative.
- Contribute to cross-sector projects and strategic initiatives led by the FMC Head and the FMC Strategy and Business Engagement Lead
Profile
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Advanced university degree in climate policy, environmental economics, engineering, public policy, international relations or related discipline
- Strong project management, organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder engagement processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment
- Interest in climate change, industrial decarbonization and market-based transition
- Proactive, collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset
