Lead Data Analyst
The Lead Data Analyst reviews and approves complex analytics and statistical modeling on large data sets that identify current market sector trends and customer patterns. This job directs the examination and identification of data patterns and trends that help answer business questions and improve decision-making. The Lead Data Analyst oversees the collection of data sources, as well as the analysis and extraction of key data and information. This job also ensures that data quality meets the organization's information system needs and requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Approves mathematical, statistical, and economic techniques that determine market conditions, project consumer needs and inform business initiatives.
  • Analyzes and reviews trends found from modelling to inform other lines of business such as product development and marketing decisions.
  • Oversees data mining models, statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies to identify key customer segments and to simulate impact of potential business decisions.
  • Develops and presents detailed reports and conclusions for business, finance, and investment management based on data summaries.
  • Partners with other areas of the business to model outcome of implementing potential business strategies.
  • Manages large, complex projects or processes with limited oversight while working with other team members to ensure accurate findings and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain complex Workday reports including Advanced Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and Custom Report Fields.
  • Build and optimize Workday dashboards to present data in a clear, interactive, and decision-focused manner for leadership and business partners.
  • Follow reporting governance frameworks, ensure data security compliance, and maintain version control in reporting assets.
  • Apply and adhere to Workday’s security framework, ensuring that reports and dashboards are built with appropriate role-based access
  • Leverage Workday reporting capabilities such as Worksheets, Discovery Boards, and People Analytics to deliver user-friendly insights.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Create and maintain documentation for reports and reporting processes
  • Support periodic reporting needs including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports.
  • Analyze data trends to provide insights and recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Stay current with Workday updates and enhancements to reporting capabilities
  • Participate in testing and validation during Workday updates and implementations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with Workday reporting tools and functionalities
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining reports using Workday's reporting capabilities
  • Strong understanding of data structures and relationships within Workday
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro certification or other relevant Workday certifications preferred
  • Experience with multiple Workday modules (HCM, Financials, Payroll, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SQL or other query languages
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Project management experience
