Job Description 

The Specialist, Field Services Support (APS) will be responsible for full-cycle product support for our Scientific Instrument (SI) equipment and Purification Systems. This includes managing project budgets and costs, handling on-call support, preparing all types of contract documentation, managing spare parts sales, maintaining SOPs and JSAs, and acting as an on-site safety supervisor when required. 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Deliver customer service support and assist with budgeting, cost control, and documentation for FSE activities. Service may also be provided via phone or email as applicable. 

  • Travel to customer facilities as required (primarily domestic travel). 

  • Promote and execute Preventive Maintenance Agreements. 

  • Perform safe work during close inspection of potentially hazardous products (e.g., electrical wiring, hot surfaces, chemical and gas leaks, pressurized systems). 

  • Provide support to global and domestic FSE (Field Service Engineer/Technician) peers. 

  • Maintain proper documentation for all on-site field service calls and any critical equipment information gathered via phone/email. 

  • Provide parts and labor requirements to the local CSR (Customer Service Representative) for customer quote generation. 

  • Create reports as required. 

  • Provide detailed verbal and written feedback to Engineering, Quality, and other departments as necessary. 

  • Travel to domestic sites to support routine on-site work (PM, commissioning) for less complex product lines. 

 

Traits and Qualifications 

  • Technical, engineering, or scientific degree, or equivalent field service experience required. 

  • Experience in budget and cost management for FSE positions. 

  • Ability to understand and take full responsibility for technical issues after completing factory training. 

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while communicating effectively with internal and external customers. 

  • Understanding of electronic, chemical engineering, and mechanical systems required. 

  • Strong computer and communication skills, with solid SAP experience. 

  • Experience in industrial gas or semiconductor industries is a plus. 

  • Valid passport (for travel outside Korea) and a valid driver’s license required.
