Job Description:

Position Summary 

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) within the Marketing Technical Solution (MTS) team reports to the Field Applications Manager and serves as a member of FM&I (Fluid-Handling Management and Instrument) team. The FAE coordinates and provides technical support for pre-sales and post-sales warranty activities for equipment and system providers (OEMs) supporting including with Samsung and SK Hynix. 

Based on a deep understanding of customer requirements, the MTS FAE delivers technical support for existing products while identifying and developing new applications, competitor investigation, market mapping by products through direct communication with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and other internal departments. In addition, the role involves troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues and sharing technical knowledge, lessons learned, and application insights with relevant Business Unit stakeholders as well as regional organizations across Asia and the US. 

 

The Role & Responsibility 

Technical Service Support 

  • Provide first-line warranty service and technical support for AMH instrumentation customers, including particle and titration systems 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OEMs during new system installations 

  • Act as the main point of contact for annual calibration and validation activities 

  • Design and execute scientific application methods tailored to specific customer requirements; develop execution plans and deliver comprehensive reports on results 

  • Develop and implement new applications for existing FM&I products, and propose enhancements or modifications to expand customer use cases and market opportunities 

  • Serve as the key contact and provide technical support for the setup of reagent-related business activities, including QC equipment verification at customer sites such as Samsung. 

 

Technical Sales and Marketing Support 

  • Provide technical sales support to maintain existing business and support the development of new business opportunities 

  • Visit customers before, during, and after new product introductions to educate the market and pursue initial sales opportunities 

  • Provide and interpret design, application, and service-related information to customers and internal stakeholders 

  • Serve as a direct customer interface in situations requiring intensive technical and application support 

  • Conduct market mapping activities through analysis of competitor information, technologies, applications, and industry trends 

  • Proactively identify and capture new business opportunities by leveraging broad technical expertise and marketing insight, establishing early technical engagement, and delivering actionable recommendations to the sales organization. 

 

Technical Leadership 

  • Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for assigned products and applications 

  • Support the development of technical collateral, including technical literature, white papers, manuals, data sheets, and related product documentation, as directed by the Senior Technologist 

  • Lead and deliver internal and external training programs for all products within the Instrumentation portfolio.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Ability to learn, understand, and become proficient in all Entegris particle and titration software and firmware platforms 

  • Language skills: Proficiency in English is required. (International travel is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively in English with global and regional Business Units.) 

Education / Experience 

  • 3–5 years of experience in particle size analysis or related analytical instrumentation applications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience supporting semiconductor customers in a technical or applications engineering capacity 

  • Demonstrated experience directly engaging with customers in Technology, Applications Engineering, or Technical Sales environments.
