This role plays a critical part in protecting Ciena’s people, data, and reputation by leading complex digital forensics and investigation efforts across geographies, technologies, and regulatory environments.

 

How you will make an impact:

• Act as a subject matter expert for digital forensics, leading investigations related to security incidents, data breaches, fraud, and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics matters in close partnership with Legal and key stakeholders. 
• Lead computer forensics and electronic discovery activities, including evidence acquisition, data processing, review, and production for internal and external legal matters. 
• Design, build, and mature an in‑house forensic technology and assist in establishing electronic discovery lab to enhance investigative capability through advanced tooling and analytics. 
• Develop clear, factual, and objective investigation reports, presenting findings, conclusions, and risk‑based recommendations to management and governance bodies. 

• Assist in maturing the Insider Risk program strategy through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Legal, Cyber Security, Internal Audit, Information Technology, Accounting, and external agencies to strengthen risk management, controls, compliance, and governance. 
• Contribute to the execution and continuous improvement of Ciena’s global security programme, operating effectively across time zones and regions.

 

The must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in digital forensics and data analytics within complex enterprise environments. 
• Strong knowledge of forensic methodologies, evidence handling, chain‑of‑custody practices, and applicable legal, regulatory, and privacy requirements. 
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings into clear, concise reports and presentations for non‑technical stakeholders. 

• Willingness to support and assist the Insider Risk strategy for the enterprise.
 

 

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Python scripting and APIs would be good to have but not an absolute requirement for this role.

• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms such as Splunk. 

• Experience in cloud‑based and mobile device forensics across modern enterprise platforms.

• Working knowledge of data visualisation and analytics tools including Power BI and Structured Query Language (SQL).
