Job Description

1. Perform process training for key personal within the department.
2. Perform start up’s and special projects after mold changes
3. Verify the accuracy of travelers for special projects
4. Work with QA Department in sizing of products after start up
5. Working with all individuals to set up a mold Start up procedure process. Create a proper check sheet of requirements for a mold start up.
6. Establish and oversee PM Program for Special Projects
7. Perform trouble shooting of molding processes and secondary operations (robotics, automation and equipment.
8. Point lead person in all aspects of special production equipment and making recommendations for improvement of processes
9. Utilize sound processing and molding knowledge in setting and maintaining process operating parameters of molds, robots and related support equipment.
10. Possesses ability to maintain and create mold data, cycle/process sheet database files, etc.
11. Possess ability to identify machine and mold inefficiencies related to condition of equipment.
12. Working knowledge of design/development of manufacturing systems processes
13. Any other job functions deemed necessary.
14. Must be able to travel when required
15. Oversee customer focus teams.
16. Must be able to visit customers and conduct meetings in a professional manner.
17. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environment and Department of Health requirements
18. Directs molding technicians in setting and maintaining optimum molding parameters to achieve production volume goals at the highest quality level with the lowest cost.
19. Must possess the ability or willingness to learn how to perform process optimization (MAPS)
20. Oversee all aspects of special projects within the Molding Department
21. Must obtain and maintain lock-out tag-out certification
22. Ensure safety adherence, champion safety improvement, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma / GED equivalent.
2. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
3. Certified Molding Process Technician
4. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and to push / pull loads in excess of 100 pounds
6. Ability to climb ladders / steps
7. Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift
8. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at 12 – 18 inches
9. Able to start up all Injection Molding Machines within the Molding Department
10. Able to work different hours based on work load.
11. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
12. Leadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group.
13. Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding process.
14. Well-organized and demonstrated project management skills
15. Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; 5S; quality improvement tools; set-up time reduction, process flow improvement.
16. Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must
17. Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software and JDE/Tableau

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $5,000 to $52,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $5,000 to $100,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
