Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims Service team at Marsh. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Specialist – Claims Service (Grade C1)

- As a new colleague, you will be provided with Business Overview/Insights, in-depth process training, roles & responsibilities overview, expectations of various stakeholders to make you successful in this role.
- Within the first 30 days, we expect you to gain good understanding of the role and requirement that it entails. Within 60 days, attain competency & have a good understanding of process and systems & finally within 90 days be able to technically handle the claim with limited support.
We will count on you to:
- Client Service Management:
Claims Management:
- Manage claim files based on policy coverage and conditions, ensuring that all claims are processed accurately to avoid any deniability.
- Take ownership of claims workflows/portfolio from initial advice and collection through to claim settlement, ensuring that traction is maintained by the processing team for market agreements and payments in line with claim priority status.
- Deliver assigned tasks for each claim file without deviation, including file reviews, email filing, aged claim monitoring, and proactive communication with the processing team, markets, and intermediaries to facilitate timely settlements.
- Maintain complete product knowledge of core business units
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure no errors and omissions (E&O), data protection act (DPA) breaches, or process violations are found in claim files under your ownership.
- Meet auditing targets for cases across business units monthly. Maintain high levels of accuracy with minimal impact findings in the Technical Manager's audit of auditors.
- Maintain quality and productivity scores in accordance with the KPI grid, striving for continuous improvement.
Ideation & process Improvement
- Actively contribute to the ideation process by proposing innovative solutions and enhancements to existing claims processes and workflows, driving continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new initiatives and best practices that streamline operations and elevate the client experience
- Reduce the claim payment cycle & Improve the collection of funds outstanding from carriers over
Team Development and Mentorship:
- Work with high-potential team members to develop their skills and readiness for advancement to the next level.
- Efficiently drive assigned operational projects and deliver significant development improvements.
- Mentor, coach, and manage knowledge within the team
- Compliance, Regulatory and Procedural Responsibilities
- Ensure that all statutory regulations and company procedures are followed to protect clients, colleagues and the business interest of the company
- Appropriate usage of Marsh Speciality's systems to monitor, record and retain information
- Demonstrate clear understanding of regulatory requirements
- Proactively ensures compliance with regulatory and risks framework
- Adheres to policies, guidelines and operating procedures
- Keeps own knowledge and expertise up to date and relevant
- Identifies and evaluates risks appropriately. Recognises how own actions impact on compliance
What you need to have:
- Understanding of Insurance Broking business of Marsh and terminologies
- Know-how of markets/legislations/regulators/procedures governing our business
- Technical aptitude, analytical skills and ability to acquire subject matter expertise on existing and new processes
- Upto date on recent developments and happenings impacting our business
- Extremely Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and organise tasks, work within stiff timelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Demonstrate confidence in talking to clients, stakeholders or colleagues both in spoken and written communication.
- Willing to go the extra mile in order to achieve the best possible outcome
- Positive attitude to change and willingness to embrace the advantages
Education: Graduate
Experience: 3-4 years of experience in Insurance Claims Handling.
