Job Summary

The Capital Projects Specialist is responsible for assisting with and managing renovations to the Comcast Center Campus in Philadelphia. The Capital Projects team will improve and update campus workspaces and amenities to ensure a world-class experience for employees and visitors. The Specialist will lead cross-functional project teams composed of internal and external stakeholders from project conception through construction completion. Projects will vary in scale up to full-floor renovations of corporate office space. Experience with the lifecycle of a typical commercial construction project, and familiarity with construction documents are a must. Strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and balance several projects simultaneously are essential.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing capital projects and renovations.
  • Evaluate and oversee requests for campus renovations.
  • Meet with business units to determine their renovation requests; analyze requests within project constraints to develop project scopes and plans.
  • Upgrade furniture backgrounds in a third-party Integrated Workplace Management System
  • Assist with furniture test fits for smaller projects
  • Summarize and present proposed project plans to senior management for approval.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables; report status to senior management.
  • Work with and manage external stakeholders including architectural and MEP design firms, general contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including project partner teams and business units.
  • Review construction documents and perform site evaluations and punch lists.
  • Lead project meetings; create agendas, issue meeting minutes and track action items.
  • Review vendor proposals for accuracy and cost control; create and track purchase orders.
  • Process and track invoices for approval and payment.
  • Willingness and ability to take on new department projects and assignments as required.
  • Support team-oriented administrative tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Build relationships and trust both within the team and with our customers through credibility and authenticity.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Flexibility to occasionally work nights and weekends as project needs demand.
  • This position is expected to report to the office or other designated location five days per week.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 3-6 years of experience with project management, design, construction, or fundamentals of facilities operations.
  • Portfolio / project examples required.
  • Familiarity of design and construction workflows from project conception through construction completion.
  • Ability to comprehend and review construction documents.
  • Understanding of capital budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD or Revit, Adobe applications, and Project Management software.
  • Willing to work in the office at least four days a week.
