The Americas Accounting Center of Expertise (CoE) supports Baxter’s monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and has insight into senior leadership.
This team focuses on ensuring accurate accounting treatment for sophisticated areas of accounting, evaluating internal controls, and establishing efficient and accurate close processes.
This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with various Global Finance contacts, the Costa Rica Shared Services Center (SSC) and other members of the Accounting CoE.

Resolve and document appropriate accounting treatment for AR and Revenue transactions ensuring compliance with US GAAP and ASC606 accounting standards.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate/timely reporting of monthly financial data, including required US GAAP/management adjustments and accounting support
Prepare and present to management Balance Sheet and Revenue results, including monthly flux analysis and trends.
Coordinate system close process, run validations and ensure data is accurate and complete, identify and mitigate risks, while supporting internal control and audit process requests.
Own multiple revenue analysis, such as rebates, commissions, chargebacks, royalties and prepare the related monthly/quarterly entries
Ensure that account receivables balances comply with company policies by owning related reconciliations and certifications in Blackline.
Challenge the status quo, and keep looking for improvement opportunities, to take our processes to the next level.
Support team manager as a first level reviewer, collaborating with management ad hoc request and becoming revenue/AR projects POC.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting required; CPA preferred
6 years of accounting experience; solid accounting/finance background and qualifications (industry experience is a plus).
Proven understanding of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environments
High level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proven experience managing large data.
Ability to lead ambiguity and multiple, challenging priorities and to efficiently handle or resolve issues to meet deadlines
Process improvement and process innovation experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork skills, adaptable, self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
JDE, HFM, FCCS, Blackline and DAS knowledge is a plus
People management experience is a plus
