We are currently looking for a Specialist 1, Material Handling, to join our team in Smyrna, TN. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, communicating, and implementing supply chain projects in relation to new model complexity, kit and part sequencing, complexity/engineering change impact, and floor space or offsite setup. This position will maintain/create CAD layouts of the Smyrna plant and its offsite facilities in order to provide space analysis and studies. Supports the shop floor supervision with process changes, design, and implementation of new processes.

A Day in the Life:   

  • Develop planning strategies for all projects requiring internal logistics flow changes, space rightsizing, manpower/cost reductions, and equipment MH installation.
  • Analyze space requirements by creating and maintaining CAD layouts to scale within the plant or off-site warehouse operations.
  • Interacting with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, PQE, purchasing, Material Handling, New Model, and Yates support groups is required to gather needed data for project details.
  • Present project details to management for approval and funding.

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • 1-2 or more years of directly related Supply Chain Management and Material Flow experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and CAD data.

Preferred:

  • A related degree from a four-year college
  • Experience in automotive service parts or manufacturing environments.
