Job Description:

Department: Personal Care Services (PCS)

Employment Type: Part-Time, Hourly (~25 hours/week)

Job Summary

  • Provides personal care and support services to elderly and/or disabled clients in their homes across multiple branch locations.
  • Supports continuity of care by filling short-notice callouts, schedule gaps, and temporary assignments.
  • Assignments are variable and may change based on client and branch needs.
  • Requires compassion, reliability, flexibility, and adaptability.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of caregiving experience.
  • Active HHA certificate or CNA license required (Massachusetts).
  • Alzheimer’s/Dementia certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation with valid license and insurance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide care to unstaffed or temporarily unassigned clients.
  • Accept assignments on an on-call basis.
  • Maintain at least 85% billable time.
  • Assist with ADLs (bathing, grooming, hygiene).
  • Perform meal prep, laundry, and light housekeeping.
  • Run essential errands as needed.
  • Report changes in client condition.
  • Submit accurate documentation and timesheets.
  • Follow all safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Support branch operations when not in the field.

Work Expectations

  • Approximately 25 hours per week.
  • Daytime hours (typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
  • Schedule varies based on needs.
  • Assignments may change with short notice.
  • May require weekends and holidays.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs (more as needed).
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to home environments and cleaning chemicals.
  • Compliance with safety and health protocols.

Risk Exposure

  • Low risk with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
