Job Summary: This position is part of the Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security, Department of Energy. As a Special Agent - Executive Tactical Transporter, you will be responsible for the safe transport and physical protection of the Secretary of Energy and Deputy Secretary of Energy.

Major Duties:

  • The Department of Energy's mission is to ensure America's security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions. The Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security office is responsible for policy development and technical assistance; safety analysis; and corporate safety and security programs. As a Special Agent - Executive Tactical Transporter, you will: Provides executive protection services, often on short notice, for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Energy, and other designated DOE Executives. Conducts comprehensive threat assessments and vulnerability analyses for all movements, including planning and surveying routes and coordinating with law enforcement. Performs tactical driving operations, ensuring safe and timely transportation of protectees in various conditions. Assists in establishing and staffing command post centers, including installing and maintaining specialized equipment and monitoring security operations. Supports investigations into security incidents and prepares detailed investigative leads for criminal investigators. Manages the planning, building, purchasing, and maintenance of armored protective vehicles.

Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level n the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: 1. Performing tactical vehicle operations; AND 2. Performing risk management or protective operations; AND 3. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
