We have an exciting opportunity to join the Aftermarket On-Wing & Logistics organisation, as Spare Engine Services (SES) –Operations Manager.

What you will be doing:

You will be a primary leadership contact for the engine Asset Managers, Fleet Planning and Regional Services Teams and will lead the integration of the overall operational management of lease engines across the Service Delivery Team including Overhaul Services, On Wing Services and Logistics to maximise the availability of lease assets.

Currently there are over 500 lease engines in service across all Civil Aerospace fleets which are used to support our customers in maintaining operational spare engine levels within their fleets. These engines provide short- and long-term spare engines for requirements ranging from urgent and immediate AOG support through to longer term planned allocations to support heavy engine removal programmes.

We have moved to a new asset management model for the lease engine pool the overall technical, commercial, and financial management.  This is managed by our service delivery partner, Aether Asset Management.  This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in developing and improving this type of partnership.

This team will be responsible for integrating the overall lease to lease value stream to maximise the number of available engines and deliver our Maintenance Agreement for the asset owners.

We are therefore seeking a motivated, driven, and creative leader to lead the operational planning and control of this growing pool of lease engine assets.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with Fleet Planning, Aether Asset Management, Customer Regional Teams, and our MRO providers you will lead a team responsible for creating the initial availability plans for engines returning from lease including maintenance requirements, maintenance location and transportation.

Once initial plans are in place, you will lead the operational delivery of the lease return to ensure engines are made available in line with initial plans and executive systems maintained accordingly.

You will also:

  • Identify, and drive implementation of improvement activities aimed at reducing the time to make lease engine available.
  • Lead the governance and status reporting for all engines in the lease return process, ensuring stakeholders are aware of the latest plans along with associated opportunities and hazards.
  • Work closely with the Logistics and OWS Teams you will lead the tracking and maintenance of lease assets in Rolls-Royce managed storage facilities to ensure they remain preserved and ready for lease when required.
  • Lead coordination of transportation to and from the Customer, ensuring the availability of suitable Stands, MVP Bags and Ground Support Equipment whilst managing logistics cost to Rolls-Royce as part of this service.
  • Lead coordination of the overall operational plans for the acquisition and disposal of engines into and out of the Emergency Lease Pool. e.g., reverse lease, engine revert / scrap etc.
