Why This Role Matters
The successful candidate would provide day-to-day support to the Post-War & Contemporary Art Department, supporting coordination of day to day business, travel, client liaison while supporting preparation of cataloguing, research, valuations and pricing sessions, in addition to general every day tasks. The role would require the candidate to be proficient in English and Spanish and would last for twelve months.
How You'll Make an Impact
Support International Specialist & Head of Post-War & Contemporary Art Spain, as well as Senior International Specialists in London with coordination of day-to-day running of the business
Support Travel booking & planning, expenses and diary management
Assist in researching property for cataloguing, sale, valuations and pricing sessions
Assist with proposals and the writing of auction catalogue notes
Prepare factsheets and images
Respond to image and factsheet requests, assist International Specialists with day to day client requests via email, phone or written response
Liaison with internal departments, including Proposals and Valuations
Support Business Intelligence Analyst with pre-sale targeting
Support setting up bids for clients in global auction sites
Maintain tracking of consigned and sold works from the region
What you’ll bring to the team
Language skills (fluent in Spanish & English is essential, with French and Italian desirable)
Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication
Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
Interest/knowledge of Post-War & Contemporary Art required
Good research and writing skills, experience with Research Libraries is desirable
Good team worker and willingness to help out when needed
Hard working
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to demonstrate client facing experience
Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Ability to learn Christie’s systems including COS, J.D.E., intranet and website
