We are a dynamic team of former technology finance professionals, investment bankers, consultants, and engineers that enjoy solving the business challenges that come with rapid scaling.  Our goal is to grow Box as fast as possible.  Our role is to inform and drive some of Box’s most important business decisions by providing context and connection between functions, across time (quarter, year, multi-year), and among varying levels of data (high-level external metrics to detailed operational indicators), linking that context directly to our corporate and business strategy and objectively assessing the impact of the decision on our business.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with the EMEA Engineering Site Leader as a trusted thought partner, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions
  • Own month-end close activities for EMEA Engineering, ensuring accurate accruals, forecasting, and variance analysis across headcount and operating expenses
  • Serve as the primary owner of EMEA Engineering headcount planning, tracking hiring, backfills, attrition, and role changes against plan
  • Develop deep expertise in Box’s capital development framework, partnering with Engineering to assess, document, and validate capitalizable work
  • Perform detailed capital development analysis, including capitalization eligibility, forecasting, and post-close reviews
  • Support long-range planning, annual operating plan, and quarterly forecast cycles for EMEA Engineering
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to headcount, spend, proactively recommending mitigation actions
  • Continuously improve reporting, processes, and tools related to Engineering finance and headcount tracking
  • Act as a key liaison between Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and SP&A to ensure alignment and smooth execution

 

Who You Are

  • You have 4+ years of applicable experience with time spent in finance, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or business operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel with prior financial modeling experience 
  • Prior experience with Planful, SQL, Salesforce and Tableau or desire to learn
  • Fast-paced, dynamic team environments are exciting to you
  • You are thoughtful and a poised communicator and are not hesitant to voice your point of view
  • You take pride in your analytical and financial modeling skills and enjoy applying them to tackle highly complex business problems – and you can tell the story behind the data through relevant insights and conclusions
  • You can navigate networks of systems and people to find the information you need
  • You’re a structured thinker and have strong command of “the details” but don’t get lost in them
  • You are comfortable contributing to projects end-to-end, from initiation and planning through to closure
  • You can effectively prioritize multiple work streams and constituents
