Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens opened in March 2019 and provides a preferred address for both business and leisure travelers, and the highly personalized, anticipatory service that Four Seasons guests expect and value around the world. The Arion Hotel was built in 1967 and has 106 keys and 61 Bungalows, and the Nafsika opened in 1980 and has 136 keys. Under the same ownership is a large private beach club and marina. Nafsika is open through the year, while Arion and the bungalows operate eight months of the year. Adding to the complement of on-site F&B operations (8 Restaurants and Bars), there are also two third party restaurants on site.

At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens (ranked No. 17 in the World’s 50 Best Hotels), we are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Sous Chef to join our Michelin-starred destination, Pelagos. This is a full-time, permanent leadership role for a culinary professional who excels in technical precision, operational excellence, and the elevated artistry of fine dining.

What You Will Do 

  • To hire, train, motivate, supervise and discipline all Chef’s working directly and indirectly in the main kitchen.
  • To communicate regularly with the Restaurant Chef to achieve an excellent rapport throughout the food production department and in developing new menu items as well the quality of all food prepared in the kitchen he supervises.
  • Constantly inspect taste, temperature and visual appeal, make sure that all dishes are uniform and that established portion sizes are adhered to.
  • To do requisition of all items needed for the following day from the food storeroom, non-food storeroom and stewarding department.
  • To ensure that proper H.A.C.C.P. procedures, including records keeping, are followed and the outlet are always clean, neat and tidy.
  • To ensure all equipment is in full working order.
  • To ensure a superior production of international food and other dishes.
  • To have full knowledge of Four Seasons Food Standards.

What You Bring 

  • A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry, is an advantage. 
  • Fluency in English is essential. 
  • Applicants must have European Passport or the legal right to work in Greece.
