What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.

Job Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing Global Products is an individual contributor that participates in the development of the strategic sourcing strategy as well as execution of the sourcing process, and all of its associated activities. This job manages the global supplier portfolio and ensures that suppliers are able to provide strategic and tactical activities for Cardinal Health’s long-term plans. The job looks cross-functionally to ensure that supply chain and financial goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a Pan-Asian supply base in Global Sourcing Team, primary focus categories are Disposable Nitrile Exam glove, woven/nonwoven PPEs.
  • APAC (Non-China) Supply base Scouting, Relationship Management, Performance management, Supply Risk Management for North America market.
  • Participate in project management process, drive product change request, qualification and validation process to minimize supply risk and on time new product launch.
  • Conducts industry specific research, benchmarking, financial and business analytics for long range pricing and buy rationalizations.
  • Perform data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings.
  • Proactive work with cross-functional partners to effectively select suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts and manage supplier performance and relationships.
  • To comply with company business ethnics and procedure and perform responsible procurement.
  • Creates collaborative business plans with strategic suppliers, develops negotiation strategies, and directs the execution of strategic programs.
  • Global expertise in category management including technical product knowledge, cost drivers, related industry dynamics and market trends.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor or Master, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain is preferred.
  • Required: 8 years Strategic Sourcing function in multinational Company
  • Required: experienced in Medical Device, disposable products are preferred.
  • Required: Fluent English communication.
  • Required: High Fluency in Microsoft office skills – Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
  • Project management experience, Mandarin would be a plus.
  • Strong project and process management to execute supply strategy for assigned categories with cross functional teams.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain processes to support supplier selection and performance management.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape
  • Willing to travel at least 30% for business purposes (domestically and internationally).
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment to deliver cost, quality, and service results in time manner.
  • Quicker learner, self-motivated, detail oriented & full of ownership.
