JOB POSITION

Carelon Global Solutions India is looking for a Lead Procurement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • The Lead Procurement role is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
  • This position acts as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver value, mitigate risks, and support organizational objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value-driven sourcing initiatives.
    • Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers.
    • Negotiate contracts and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
    • Monitor supplier performance and compliance.
    • Partner with internal teams to understand procurement needs.
    • Provide guidance on procurement policies and best practices.
    • Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and sustainability standards.
    • Manage procurement risks and maintain audit readiness.
    • Implement digital tools and automation for procurement efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Mentor junior procurement staff.
    • Support resource allocation and workload management.

              QUALIFICATION

              • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
              • Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: CPSM, CPM or CIPS, Six Sigma is preferred.
              • ERP or P2P implementation and optimization experience highly desired.
              • Preferred education:  Supply Chain Master’s degree is preferred.

              EXPERIENCE

              • Minimum experience: 6 to 10 years of work experience in Procurement Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Strategic Vendor governance and management, Procurement CoEs

              SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

              • Comprehensive understanding of Source-to-Pay processes and related applications, Procurement Analytics & Risk Management  
              • Experience in process transformations in Global supply chain management
              • Experience in working in a large multinational company and comfortable working with global teams and matrixed structures.
              • Good understanding of Procure to Pay operations in a global environment
              • Business acumen, analytical & end to end process – minded
              • Strong collaborative skills, positive attitude, high energy, and results orientation.
              • Strong detail orientation and process improvement focus
              • Proven ability to manage and motivate professional staff toward successful results
              • Exceptional ability to effectively articulate difficult ideas and concepts through clear and concise verbal and/or written communication
