Position Overview:
As a Sourcing Lead, you will guide supplier strategy and execution within the Chassis Systems category, ensuring strong alignment with Polaris’ broader commodity goals. You will work directly with suppliers to drive performance in delivery, quality, new product integration, and cost competitiveness. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal partners to support program launches, cost initiatives, and supply continuity. You will have the opportunity to influence sourcing decisions and contribute to long‑term commodity strategies that impact Polaris’ operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned supplier relationships to ensure effective communication, performance alignment, and execution of supply agreements and long‑term contracts.
  • Initiate and manage requests for proposals and quotes for new parts and revisions, proposing supplier selections aligned to commodity strategy.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and overall fit for the Chassis Systems category.
    Identify, lead, and execute cost‑reduction initiatives, supplier transitions, and tool moves.
  • Manage cost, schedule, technical requirements, and drawing release status for assigned projects, driving corrective actions as needed.
  • Execute the multi‑year commodity vision by incorporating internal customer input, purchasing goals, risk factors, growth plans, and broader supply chain strategies.
  • Establish supplier‑specific cost‑reduction approaches and measurable targets, partnering with suppliers to achieve results.
  • Apply negotiation tools, should‑cost analysis, and competitive market assessments to drive cost‑reduction efforts.
  • Establish contractual commitments that secure long‑term cost savings aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Support supplier quality teams in root cause analysis, containment, and countermeasure activities for quality issues.
  • Monitor and drive supplier performance related to quality, delivery, lead‑times, and capacity to ensure production support.
  • Assist in resolving part shortages and delivery concerns when necessary.
    Conduct make‑versus‑buy analyses and prepare, issue, and evaluate RFQs and RFPs.
  • Coordinate resources and schedules across departments to support development, launch, production, and ongoing vehicle programs across multiple facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of Sourcing or relevant supply chain experience.
  • Strong negotiation, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to develop productive, professional relationships with suppliers and represent Polaris effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and technical data.
    Knowledge of MAPICS MRP systems and web‑based business applications is desired.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations, including presenting to operations leadership.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and the ability to support project managers.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $68,000 to $90,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
