Your Opportunity:

The Sourcing Cost Excellence Manager, Global Manufactured Components is a strategic and self-directed leader responsible for driving cost efficiency across three core areas: Tariffs, Cost Savings, and Budgeting.  This role will champion the transition from "Sub Category Budgeting" to "Parts Level Itemized Budgeting."  This role is essential to reducing financial exposure, enhancing sourcing productivity, and ensuring fiscal discipline across the sourcing department. The Cost Manager will also mentor the Cost Analyst and provide guidance to the broader sourcing team.

Work Location: 

  • This role will be based at the Bloomington, MN Toro's International Corporate Headquarters.  Fully remote is not available at this time.  

  • The current team works 3-days on campus, with optional 2-days remote.  

  • Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative/operations offices.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components

What Will You Do? Key Responsibilities:  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • Tariff Management: Maintain a centralized database of all tariff planned costs incurred through supplier pricing or invoicing.  Lead efforts to reduce The Toro Company’s tariff-related expenditure by at least 25%. Poactively identify and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risk and exposure.  Draft and maintain policies that support process improvements and compliance in tariff management.

  • Cost Savings Leadership: Own the cost savings process for Direct Material Sourcing and Aftermarket Supply Chain.  Facilitate ideation sessions and maintain a robust pipeline of productivity projects.  Ensure that 125% of the next fiscal year’s savings target is identified three months prior to fiscal year-end.  Align with engineering leaders to prioritize high-impact savings opportunities. Represent Direct Material Sourcing with business unit partners.  Provide mentorship and guidance to sourcing team members on cost savings delivery. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in cost management.

  • Budgeting and Financial Reporting: Lead the budget setting process for the sourcing department.  Manage monthly budget reconciliation and forecasting, including identification of risks and opportunities.  Reduce workload related to purchase part variance tracking by 25% or more through automation in partnership with Finance and Sourcing Analytics. Deliver monthly executive summaries and presentations of financials to leadership. Draft and implement policies that streamline budgeting and reporting processes.

  • Leadership & Development: Grow and develop the Cost Analyst through coaching, performance feedback, and skill-building. Serve as a mentor to sourcing team members on budgeting, tracking, and cost savings processes. Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharin

What Do You Need?  

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area such as supply chain, business, or STEM required.

  • Minimum of 7 years in strategic sourcing.

  • Self-directed with strong ownership and accountability.

  • Proven experience in cost management, sourcing, or supply chain finance.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and reporting.

  • Experience with tariff regulations and mitigation strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable results.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to draft policies and procedures that support process improvements and operational excellence.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Preferred:   

  • Prior experience in Global manufacturing setting, navigating Tarriffs, Costs and Budgeing preferred.

  • Prior experience in transitioning from a "Sub Category Budgeting" to a "Parts-Level-Itemized Budgeting" strongly preferred.

  • Supply Chain Management certification, or athe bility to achieve, preferred.

  • Prior experience in SAP is preferred. 

  • Minimum of two+ (2) or more years of experience in supervising sourcing professionals desired.

  • Experience in sourcing globally (Mexico, China, India, and Europe) strongly desired

  • Competitive Salary A reasonable salary estimate is $115,300 - $145,500 for this opportunity.   The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
