We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sourcing Category Manager to lead global SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative) category management. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, driving cost optimization initiatives, managing key supplier relationships, and partnering closely with business and functional teams worldwide.

The SG&A scope includes (but is not limited to):

Professional Services, Sales & Marketing, Finance and legal Corporate Services, T&M (Travel & Meeting).

This role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across regions to ensure procurement strategies support business needs and deliver sustainable value.

This role will sit hybrid two days a week in our Parsippany, NJ office

Category Strategy Development:

  • Create and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for SG&A and T&M that align with global and regional business needs, reflect market conditions, and prioritize savings generation.
  • Drive category strategies that yield multi-year savings roadmaps, actively identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements while establishing a savings pipeline to track potential and realized savings.

C-Suite Interaction:

  • Engage with C-suite executives and their Leadership Teams to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives and present key insights, updates, and recommendations related to SG&A and T&M procurement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with functional stakeholders to gather requirements and identify strategic sourcing opportunities across SG&A, including T&M.
  • Lead the full sourcing process (RFX creation, supplier evaluation, selection, and award) with strong stakeholder alignment.
  • Influence demand management and support internal teams in optimizing SG&A and T&M spending.

Negotiation & Contracting:

  • Lead negotiations and contract management with suppliers, ensuring agreements meet global requirements, while driving favorable financial outcomes.

Supplier Management:

  • Oversee key supplier relationships, focusing on performance evaluation and value delivery across multiple SG&A and T&ME categories to enhance cost savings.
  • Implement supplier relationship management initiatives for key suppliers, fostering strong, long-term partnerships across all SG&A and T&M to drive mutual value.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, with strong experience in SG&A categories, including required experience in Travel & Meeting (T&ME).
  • Experience in managing indirect procurement across multi-country environments, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing processes, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities, with demonstrated experience in contract creation, review, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret and assess complex data sets.
  • Project management skills, with experience implementing new processes or approaches across multiple regions or locations.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools, including (but not limited to) RFX platforms, contract management systems, and spend analytics tools; experience with specific technologies such as S4 or Ariba is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong persuasion, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling business cases and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, fostering collaboration and alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Intuition and strategic judgment, with the ability to anticipate outcomes of decisions, actions, and variables in dynamic sourcing scenarios.

Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $126,600- $167,750  (subject to variation depending on physical location).

Posted salary ranges are provided in good faith. embecta reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity considerations.
